I had high hopes for my stay at Unscripted Durham due to its great location in downtown, right in the heart of everything. However, I faced a few issues, like the unexpected parking fee and the overwhelming decor that didn't quite sit right with me. While I appreciated the friendly service, the comfort of my room and the amenities left a bit to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
My room was spacious, but I was disappointed to find stained bedding upon arrival. Additionally, I encountered some design elements that I found jarring, like the intense geometric wallpaper, which really detracted from my overall experience.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly, and I must give credit to Jack at the front desk for handling customer concerns well. However, the service could have been better in addressing my issues promptly, especially regarding the linens in my room.
Location
8.0
Unscripted Durham is conveniently located in downtown, making it easy for me to explore nearby attractions. The vibrant atmosphere around the hotel was a definite plus.
Dining
5.0
While the igloo dining experience was enjoyable, I found the food portions to be quite small for the price, which left me and my friends unsatisfied after spending quite a bit.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offered complimentary tea and coffee only in the mornings, which was disappointing since I expected more self-service options. The lack of in-room coffee makers also made mornings less convenient.

5.4/10

I had a mixed experience at Unscripted Durham. On the positive side, the location was fantastic, placing me right in the heart of downtown with easy access to various attractions. The modern decor and level of cleanliness were also impressive. However, I was disappointed by the lack of daily housekeeping, and the mattress in my room felt like an 'RV King,' which was smaller than a standard king size. Additionally, the noise levels from the outdoor patio were quite disruptive in the evenings.

Rooms
6.0
My room was modern and clean, but the mattress size was misleading, and it opened to the outside, which contributed to noise issues.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, my interactions at checkout were less pleasant, and there was confusion about parking validation.
Location

Jack Tar diner offered great dining options downstairs, and there were plenty of nearby eateries to explore.
Facilities

The lack of basic amenities like a coffee maker and microwave was disappointing, along with a shortage of dog-friendly spaces.

My stay at Unscripted Durham had its ups and downs. The location is perfect for exploring downtown, but I faced significant issues with service and room availability. The amenities, including the beautiful decor, were overshadowed by an uncomfortable experience overall.

Rooms

I stayed in a King Room with a city view. The room layout was nice, and the bedding was extremely comfortable. However, I was checked into a handicap room without notice, which made it challenging for me to use the shower.
Service

The service left much to be desired. I arrived at check-in to find my room wasn’t ready, and I had to wait over an hour with no clear communication from the staff. This lack of attention to customer service really impacted my overall experience.

The hotel's location is spot on, right in the center of downtown. I appreciated being close to everything the city has to offer, making it easy to explore and find dining options.
Dining

While the atmosphere at The Patio was beautiful, the food quality during my visit was below expectations. On top of that, the service was slow, detracting from the overall dining experience.
Facilities

The facilities in the hotel seemed nice at a glance; however, I was frustrated with the parking situation, as it was an extra charge that wasn’t communicated prior to my arrival.

Staying at Unscripted Durham was an enjoyable experience overall. The boutique vibe and lively atmosphere really stood out. However, some aspects like the room's condition and noise levels did impact my stay more than I expected. If you're looking for a central location with plenty of nightlife, this spot is perfect! 🎶🌆

Rooms

The room had a great view, but I found the furnishings to be somewhat outdated and the overall space felt a bit cramped at times. The corners with large windows offered lovely natural light, though.

My stay at Unscripted Durham was a bit of a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of downtown, but unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by several issues. While I appreciated the friendly staff, the lack of basic amenities and the excessive noise from the pool area really detracted from the stay. It's a boutique hotel with charm, but definitely not without its drawbacks.

Rooms

I had a Queen Room with Two Queen Beds and a City View. The room itself was comfortable, but I did notice some gaps that let noise in from outside. The lack of a coffee maker or mini bar was disappointing, especially given the price.
Service

The staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, which was a bright spot during my stay. However, their ability to resolve issues seemed limited, as I encountered several interruptions during my time there.

Facilities like the rooftop pool have potential, but they were crowded and did not provide the relaxing experience I was hoping for. The absence of maid service unless pre-booked was also inconvenient.
